Changes in Milestone 5
- Quips has renamed back to QTSketch. For good this time.
- QTSketch can now open image files
- The image automatically becomes a single frame movie that can be sketched on, saved, and viewed in fullscreen.
- Image sequences are now opened by reference, which means they should open much faster, and use less memory
- This also means that now when you save an image sequence, the movie will NOT be-self contained. An option will be added in the next release to allow for both options.
- There is now a sketching inspector for controlling the brush size and color, and the eraser size.
- There is now basic tablet support when sketching.
- You can get a quick JPEG of the current frame with the current sketch
- There is a Quick Export item under the File menu (⌘-E)
- If you hold down the command key (AKA Apple key) and click in the movie frame, you can drag the image out to the Finder(and many other applications)
- If you hold down command and option, you can drag out a JPEG of just the sketch, without the movie frame
- QTSketch now has support for Unsanity's Smart Crash Reporter, which makes it easy for users to submit crash reports to me.
- Fixed a crashing bug related to opening/closing an image sequence
- Optimized memory performance of timeline, and fixed several bugs
- Significant memory management review should improve performance, lower memory footprint and reduce crashes.
